Chiefs Rugby Shirts
Chiefs Super 14 Rugby Shirt: The Chiefs rugby shirt is nearly all black with red side stripes and yellow striped on the top of the shoulders. The Chiefs rugby shirt has remained nearly unchanged over the years apart from the sponsors logo’s. The shirt is currently produced by Adidas with and has the Ford sponsors logo on it. The 2nd kit replaces the black colour with white.
Brief History: The Chiefs where formed in 1995 and are one of the original teams who formed the Super 12 competition. The Chiefs are currently made up of provincial unions which consist of Waikato, Bay of Plenty, King Country, Counties Manukau and Thames Valley. In the first 3 years of the competition the team had North Harbour and Northland however these where swapped for Counties Manukau and Thames Valley. This was done as it was originally believed that the Blues where to strong as they held so many All Blacks in the first two seasons. The Chiefs have seen mixed results over the years and have only reached a semi-final on one occasion. Generally the team has finished in the middle of the table; its worst placing was in 1997 when the team finished in 11th place. Some notable players who also played for the All Blacks are Ian Jones, Jonah Lomu and Byron Kelleher. So show you support this season with the all new Chiefs Rugby shirt.
