Brief History: France first played an international test in 1906 against touring New Zealand All Blacks. The France team struggled to get regular games against skilled opponents until 1947 due to been rejected by the 5 nations tournament. The year 1977 stands out in history for the France rugby team with wins over the New Zealand All Blacks in an away game while also claiming the Five Nations Cup. The French are still yet to claim the World Cup however have come close on a number of occasions and some believe is only a matter of time before the go all the way. Frances biggest win came against Brazil in 1974 (99-7) and worst defeat was to New Zealand in 2007 (10-61).
