The Hurricanes Rugby Team
Hurricanes Rugby Shirt: The Hurricanes play in a near or yellow shirt with a black collar and seams. The Rugby shirt colours where selected because they are the colours of both the Wellington and Taranaki province which make up a large portion of the franchises catchment zone. The shirt is manufactured by Adidas and also features a large blue ford logo.
Brief History:The Hurricanes originate from the capital of New Zealand called Wellington. The city located at the bottom of the North Island is well known for its winding conditions hence the name Hurricanes. Originally called the Wellington Hurricanes the team is known for its attacking flair. Unfortunately for all its supporters the team did not reach its first semi final until 2003. The team moved into one of the most modern stadiums in the competition in 2000 located on Wellingtons water front. The Hurricanes are yet to win a Super 14 title however did come close in 2006 losing to the Crusaders in the 2006 final. In 2008 the team where beaten again by the Crusaders in the semi final. The team has seen some of the most influential players in world rugby including Jonah Lomu, Tana Umaga and Christian Cullen.
