Brief History: The South African Rugby team better know us the Springboks played their first test against a touring British Isles team in 1981. The British Isles soon returned in 1896 to play another 4 tests and in this serious South Africa had their very first win. However the Springboks where overshadowed for several decades due to apartheid, with the team been made targets by many protesting groups. This also ruled South Africa out of the first two world cups, however this has not stopped this great rugby nation coming back to claim two world cups one in 1995 and the most recent one in 2007.
