About Super 14 Rugby: Super 14 is the largest rugby championship played in the southern hemisphere. The teams come from New Zealand, South Africa and Australia who are arguably the best three rugby nations in the modern world. There are currently 4 Australian teams, five New Zealand teams and five South African teams. The format of the super 14 is simple with each team playing each other once, with 7 home games and 7 away games. Each team also receives a bye meaning all games in the round are played over a 15 week period. 4 points are awarded for winning a match, with 2 been given for a draw and an additional bonus for teams who score over 4 tries or lose by less than 7 points. The top 4 teams at the end of the competition then play a semi final match followed by the winners playing for the Super 14 championship title.
